Staten Island OutLOUD invites you to join us for "The Poetic Works of Tagore" on Sunday, Nov 13 at 3pm at the Staten Island Hindu Temple, 1318 Victory Blvd, SINY 10301. Tagore is one of the most revered poets in Indian literature; we're proud to present this gathering with our good friends at the SI Hindu Temple. Free!
Staten Island OutLOUD's bilingual event will feature several of Tagore's poems set to music, and sung in the original Bengali by Priyanka Pal, a temple member who has a special expertise in Tagore's compositions - Rabindra Sageet. She will give us a fascinating insight into Tagore's work, in both his native language and in English translation.
Everyone who attends our event will also have an opportunity to read aloud in English; copies of the literature will be provided for guests to borrow.
