looks like i was having a good time at the show, just wanted to mention that its hard for a lot of artists to talk intelligently about their work on the spot and everyone did a good job. The art is already a deep form of communication without its explanation. I also wanted to add a note here about the Candy Corpse, because in my interview i only vaguely touched on its meaning. One of the most important points is that the slow decay of the candy, the "shelf life" of this sculpture refers to our increasingly longer lives, though the substance tends to be ever more shallow, candy being this symbol of instant gratification and cheap entitlement. I also referred to this in my performance that night by shouting Vita Longa Ars Brevis. switching up the old aphorism to sarcastically infer that now our modern Life is Long, Art is Short.
