The open mic group, Staten Island TRASH, was founded in 1995 by Nanci Richards and friends. SI TRASH toured Staten Island venues promoting wildly popular open mics that showcased comedy, music, poetry, and the visual arts. It provided a welcoming and nurturing atmosphere for many budding artists and performers. A feature length documentary will be screened for its first public showing on Staten Island at the Unitarian Church. It was made in 2006 by two Florida filmakers - Eric Emerick & Mark Ozz. It is about my life in the art world including my role in the founding of the NY Studio School in 1964 up to the present and features my role as an instructor at the Chautauqua School of Art.Admission is a $5 donation to the church.
