PASI (Producers Association of Staten Island)

Dear TV Producers,  

     In visiting other Community Access Stations and reviewing their functions, we discovered that many have an association for their producers. We would like to follow in their footsteps. 

     We are excited to announce that the “Producers Association of Staten Island” called PASI, has been formed which will represent and promote the interests of community television and its producers.

We already started collecting dues for membership, which is $10.00 annually.

     On more than one occasion, producers have expressed their concerns, for example, wanting better equipment, better communication and ID’s that say “Producer”, not volunteer. It would also be nice to have a current copy of the policies and procedures of SICTV.

     Our goal is not to cause conflicts, but to address these and many concerns and open up a dialog with CTV and its Board of Directors, so that we can come to certain agreements.  There is a need to have an open communication and also a need to educate us as to what we, as producers, are in-titled to have. 

      Another goal, Once a year, we would like to have an awards show to acknowledge outstanding work in TV production.  We believe this will set a higher standard for TV programming. 

      If you would like to become a member all you need is a recent ID showing you are a current producer and ten bucks. 

     This new association is very important for the future of producers at CTV.  We are all here to support each other. Quarterly meetings will be held for members where they can  make suggestions, join committees and bring up any topics open for discussion.  I sincerely, hope you come out and join us.
