From the time I was a child, I grew up doing Community Theater on the island. It wasn't just me though, it was a family thing, and at any one given time you could have all three of us (me,my sister, and my mother) in rehershals at the same time. Homework was done in the benches of Seaviews pews, at any given time we could be surrounded by many actors, and we eagerly gave up our Saturday's and Summer's to do shows with "Kids On Stage".
So, when I first learned of Snug Harbor's theater shutting it's doors in the middle of a run of "Jerry's Girls", you can understand how I easily got upset. As I learned more and more details of not just Snug Harbor, but, several other Arts related Venues, theaters, and galleries closing it's doors or losing funding, my heart started breaking.
If we continue doing this, and not paying attention, and turn a blind eye, and do nothing, there will be nothing left to do anything about.
