Staten Island OutLOUD is proud to be invited to join this tour of Fresh Kills Park, lead by the NYC Dept of Parks & Recreation.
Park Rangers will take us on a personal tour of NYC's newest and biggest park. Then, as we stop to admire a stunning vista, we'll read poems by Langston Hughes, one of the luminaries of the Harlem Renaissance.
Space is very limited, so RSVP is essential. Please call the Fresh Kills Park office at 212-788-8277 to reserve your spot, asap! They will give you location info when you RSVP. You'll meet at a rendez-vous point near Fresh Kills Park (which is not yet open for public access). You'll park your car there, and board a Parks van for the short ride to the park. Then, after the tour and reading concludes, the Parks van will drive you back to your car. You'll be on your way home by 2:30pm, maybe a bit earlier.
